208 is one of the original area codes established in 1947. It originally covered the entire state of Idaho. In 1981, it was split to create area code 208 and area code 907. Area code 208 now covers the western third of Idaho, including the cities of Boise, Meridian, Nampa, and Caldwell.

Are 208 area code numbers scams? This is a question that a lot of people have been asking lately. Unfortunately, there is no easy answer. This official asks the victim to help them transfer millions of dollars out of Nigeria, and offers a percentage of the money as a reward. Of course, the victim never receives any money, and the scammer pockets the money that they paid.

While there are certainly scammers who are using 208 area code numbers, this does not mean that all numbers with this area code are scams. There are a lot of legitimate businesses and individuals who are using this area code. So, before you assume that a number is a scam, be sure to do your research and make sure that you are contacting the correct company or individual.
